余英时，1930年生于天津。1950年至1955年就读于香港新亚书院及新亚研究所，师从钱穆先生。1956年至1961年就读于哈佛大学，师从杨联陞先生，获博士学位。曾任密歇根大学、哈佛大学、耶鲁大学教授，香港新亚书院院长兼中文大学副校长，普林斯顿大学讲座教授。2006年获颁美国国会图书馆克鲁格人文与社会科学终身成就奖、2014年获得第一届唐奖汉学奖。代表作有《朱熹的历史世界》、《方以智晚节考》、《戴震与章学诚》、《士与中国文化》、《论天人之际》等。

迈克尔·鲁惟一，英国著名汉学家。从剑桥的佩雷斯学院毕业后，他进入牛津大学莫德林学院工作。因第二次世界大战爆发，1942年他离开牛津大学，来到英国政府通讯部接受日语训练；同时，开始利用业余时间学习汉语。1947年，他来到北京生活，此时对中国传统文化和中国历史产生浓厚兴趣，同时开始研究非洲和东方文化。返回英国后，他任教于伦敦大学，主要讲授远东历史。1963年，他获得牛津大学博士学位，后任教于剑桥大学，是剑桥大学克莱尔讲堂的成员，剑桥大学以他的名字设立“鲁惟一奖”专门用于奖励在中国文学方面表现突出的本科生。
